About the event

The Bonnie Parker Band worked their way up the ranks of the Long Island music scene in the mid to late 70’s. Bonnie was known for being a powerhouse performer, singer and songwriter and always had excellent musicians in her band. The band played constantly in the tri-state area along with Rat Race Choir, Twisted Sister, and Zebra. Bonnie was a trailblazer being one of the first females to front and lead a band.

The band also toured extensively in the Northeast and the Midwest opening for such bands as Starz, Eddie Money, Grand Funk Railroad and Blue Öyster Cult. They toured the US and later spent some time in the UK and Europe touring and releasing a few singles. Bonnie had a minor hit with a cover of “Eve of Destruction” on Orchid Records in the UK.

Bonnie has never stopped making music! Her original band TANG has toured Europe and Scandinavia sharing the stage w/ Girlschool, Crucified Barbara, Dokken, W.A.S.P., Gary Moore, Twisted Sister, Helloween & Boy Sets Fire. The latest TANG cd, “Blood & Sand,” features special guest Dee Snider on a vocal duet with Bonnie on “Reign of Blood.”

Bonnie was also the Bass Guitarist/ Vocalist in Corky Laing & The Memory Thieves. Laing, being the drummer from the iconic band “Mountain.” Bonnie recorded the debut CD with the band at Levon Helm’s studio in Woodstock with Grammy award winning producer Larry Campbell. She also worked with Corky in Finland, writing, recording & performing on a rock opera called “Playing God.”

Bonnie was recently honored at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame for her groundbreaking work for females in rock. Her costumes were put on display at the museum, including her iconic top hat, tails, and white platform boots. Bonnie was in good company with displays from Twisted Sister, Zebra, and The Good Rats. Bonnie was truly humbled to have such an honor bestowed on her for having been a pioneer for females in rock in the Long Island area. It was definitely a highlight in her career!

Now in 2024, please meet the new, all female, Bonnie Parker Band featuring Denny Colt on guitar, vocals and keyboards and Hillary Blaze on drums and vocals, playing your favorite songs from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s!
